Sneak peek into our project



Last week our group was able to get our storyboard together. I think storyboarding might be the hardest thing to do together. We had plenty of ideas about what to do with our film. But it was so hard to figure out what we were going to do for the shots. I together as a group sitting down and drawing out what we wanted to do in a couple of shots was a fantastic idea. It really allowed us to focus on what we wanted to do. This allowed for this week to focus on filming.

This week was getting down to business with our fascination project for our group. Our group project is about a feminist hybrid/ anime movie. I am playing the bad guy focused on selling fake books about feminism to the world. Nobody knows that I am the bad guy. I head to North Central College one day to give a speech about how everyone should buy the book. I have a secret alter ego who is really in control of me. During this time, North Central College has heroes on campus who are studying to get degrees. These heroes live among the students; nobody truly knows who they are. 

With a sneak peek of the project. I want to say we did have a good time filming the project. We were able to get what we wanted out of the film; we are currently in post-production. Our group should be able to present our project to our class. I hope everyone is able to enjoy our project as much as we did making it.

Werewolf by Night

  The movie I watched this weekend was a  Marvel  Movie. The title of the film was called  Werewolf by Night . The director Michael Giacchino decided to take the movie in a different direction from most films we watch today. Michael Giacchino filmed his movie in black and white. His decision to make the movie black and white led to a creepy aesthetic of the movie overall. It was almost like an old-time horror movie from universal but filmed by today's standards.  One good example from the film I thought used the contrast of black and white was the clip above. It shows the Werewolf attacking the guards that were supposed to protect the boss. I thought the director did a good shoot because it showed the door slowly closing and how the light was fleeing away in the background while the Werewolf was attacking. Bullet Train

  I rewatched the movie called  Bullet Train;  the director is David Leitch. I saw this movie during Covid; this week in the class, we focused on the experiences of seeing a movie in person versus being alone. So I rewatched this movie alone; I can tell you it was a different experience. The driving point of the film is about trying to steal a suitcase full of money. Each character within the film has different motives; however, they are all getting played by a mastermind. One of the characters in the movie is named Lady Bug, played by the actor Brad Pitt. Throughout the movie, we see why Brad Pitt is Lady Bug due to his luckiness throughout the film. Brad Pitt character in the movie, has an existential crisis about whether or not he is lucky or has horrible luck. Throughout the film, we meet other characters who come from all different walks of life. However, they all encountered each other prior to the job on the bullet train. Pan's labyrinth

    This week in film class we decided to watch the movie Pan's Labyrinth. I personally thought the movie we watched was really interesting. The director for sure had a deeper meaning for what ends up happening throughout the movie. Personally for me watching the movie I thought that every time the Ofelia would go and talk to the other fairy tale monster I thought it was a way to escape the realism of the world around her. This to me gives a specific idea of how a person might go through drastic trauma. I feel like throughout the movie I saw watching that every time Ofelia would see the fairy tale monster or even to travel to other worlds something terrible would end up happening in the real world.  An example of this would be the first couple of minutes of the movie.
